zwyx Jun 18th 2010 2:15 GMT One of the most worrying aspect of Stephen Harper is his fondness for secrecy. Access to documents has never been so difficult in Canada. Countless authorizations are required from the PM office before any higher government official can be interviewed. There is even occasional bullying of journalists by Dimitri Soudas, Mr Harper's henchman. It gives the impression that his government has to hide it's incompetence. Quite cynical for a man who came to power with the promise of bringing more transparency in the wake of a corruption scandal.
Imperial Oil - a Bush family asset - sold Hitler the gasoline right thru to the war's end. {All those good American boys dying for freedom, and all the while Imperial Oil could have stopped Hitler by stopping the flow of gasoline.]
Bush Crime family and bankers from Europe and Russia, and Saudi Arabian wealthy families etc etc - all get together to grab the Iraqi Oilfields, for "who controls the oil controls all economies". {as long as the world uses only oil for energy, and not alternatives; global warming be damned, they are trying to stay wealthy].
This is the same group as Hitler had to get together for support, a generation or two along. Imperial Oil - a Bush family assett - sold Hitler the gasoline right thru to the war's end. {All those good American boys dying for freedom, and all the while Imperial Oil could have stopped Hitler by stopping the flow of gasoline.]
To understand our dear Canadian leader it is necessary to understand that his power comes from Alberta. Alberta has always been the most, right wing, evangelical christian, pseudo-intelligent, racist (where do you think Canada's 'aryan nation' reside?) province in the confederacy. http://www.economist.com/node/16377327/comments
Ironically though the province has been gifted with a superabundance of natural resources - so much so that it is virtually impossible not to be affluent there (unless of course you are an aboriginal, in which case he odds are stacked against you). This resource wealth extracted with little care for the environment has been converted into a very strong financial situation, which has been interpreted by the conservatives, who have been in power for the past forty years, as a sign from god of his approval of the way they have been handling things.
Think Alaska but with more petroleum and a slightly warmer climate. Then imagine a male Sara Palin coming from there to become the leader of your country...
a Bush family assett Joseph Harris Harper, an accountant at Imperial Oil.[
Early life Harper was born in Toronto, the first of three sons of Margaret (née Johnston) and Joseph Harris Harper, an accountant at Imperial Oil.[4] He attended Northlea Public School and, later, John G. Althouse Middle School and Richview Collegiate Institute, both in Central Etobicoke. He graduated in 1978, and was a member of Richview Collegiate's team on Reach for the Top, a television quiz show for Canadian high school students.[5] Harper then enrolled at the University of Toronto but dropped out after two months.[citation needed] He then moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where he found work in the mail room at Imperial Oil.[6] Later, he advanced to work on the company's computer systems. He took up post-secondary studies again at the University of Calgary, where he completed a bachelor's degree in economics. He later returned there to earn a master's degree in economics, completed in 1993. Harper has kept strong links to the University of Calgary, and often lectured there. He is the most recent prime minister since Joe Clark without a law degree.
