Maximus has informed the BCGEU, its workers at Medical Services Plan and Pharmacare, and its shareholders that it has hired UBS Investment Bank to explore "strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value". Maximus is considering selling individual units or the entire company.
"There's no telling how many corporate hands are going to be on our personal medical records if Maximus is sold, merged or carved up," said BCGEU president George Heyman. "British Columbians' medical histories, hospital records, and prescription records shouldn't be tangled up in mergers, sales, acquisitions or a corporate push to boost shareholder value," he added.
"The promise of new technology and the streamlining of MSP and Pharmacare administration hasn't materialized," said Heyman. "Maximus has failed to deliver."

Three foreclosure mills – the Law Offices of Marshall C. Watson, Shapiro & Fishman, and the Law Offices of David J. Stern – constitute roughly 80% of all foreclosure proceedings in the state of Florida. All are under investigation by Attorney General Bill McCollum. If the reports I am hearing are true, the illegal foreclosures taking place represent the largest seizure of private property ever attempted by banks and government entities. This is lawlessness.
I respectfully request that you abate all foreclosures involving these firms until the Attorney General of the state of Florida has finished his investigations of those firms for document fraud.
I have included a court order, in which Chase, WAMU, and Shapiro and Fishman are excoriated by a judge for document fraud on the court. In this case, Chase attempted to foreclose on a home, when the mortgage note was actually owned by Fannie Mae.

MAXIMUS CRIMINAL GOVERMENT PLAYERS WILL BE SHUFFLED INTO A NEW MINISTRY TO FURTHER INVEST
Thousands of employees will be moving from ministry to ministry and program to program, especially with the creation of the new Ministry of Natural Resource Operations.
There is still confusion in government over the changes, despite the fact they were supposedly being worked on for the last eight months.
Despite the premier's insistence that he will not back down from the changes, it's time for the government to take the same action they took with the tax cut: suspend the changes and let's see what a new premier in the new year is going to do.
This becomes even more important in light of other decisions the government made yesterday – that the 2011 budget will be tabled on February 15, 2011. Cabinet has decided on a status quo budget, with no new initiatives beyond that which is statutorily required until the new Premier is sworn in after the Liberal leadership convention on February 26th.
There's no need to make a big change now, only to have another ministry reorganization in March when the new premier is sworn in and begins work on new priorities.

The US government accused Maximus of helping the District of Columbia's Child and Family Services Agency submit false claims to the federal Medicaid program between 1994 and 2000.
Department of HHS Inspector General Daniel Levinson said in the DOJ press release that the "corporate integrity agreement with Maximus reflects the commitment of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) to ensure that the Medicaid Program effectively serves vulnerable populations and is not exploited by consulting firms providing suspect reimbursement advice.
